It is the annual Lauhala weaving conference held at the beautiful Kona Village Resort. We look forward to seeing all our friends who come from throughout the islands and some from around the world. Ka Ulu is a four day long festival consisting of beginning to advance classes of Lauhala weavers crafting items such as bracelets, purses and papale (hat).

This year my mother had the privilege of being a kumu (teacher) of a beginning level class, teaching the ‘apolima (bracelet). She had so much fun teaching her haumana (students) different patterns and styles. I had fun making my first ‘anoni (two-toned) papale! Hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed making the memories!
